We had a very enjoyable day celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday. We made beautiful crowns and we paraded them in the playground.
In Science, we have been learning about the importance of staying fit and eating healthily. We learnt all about the different food groups and the reasons why exercise is so important.
In maths, we have been learning all about 3D shapes and their properties. Using nets, we built our own 3D shapes.
We visited Tesco in Lewisham and we learnt about where different fruits and vegetables come from. We were allowed into the bakery and we also got to touch different fish. We had a great day!
In PE we have been doing dance with Miss Stone. We have learnt a dance to The Lion King song ‘I Just Can’t Wait To Be King’. Have a look at our dance below!
In Maths we have been learning about tally charts, pictograms and block diagrams. We investigated the number of each colour in a box of Smarties. We gathered our data on a tally chart and we then represented this data on pictograms and block diagrams.
During our Road Safety workshop, we learnt about the importance of crossing the road safely and always wearing a seatbelt in the car.
We had a very enjoyable Science Week! We did fun science investigations each day and we had a visit from the Wiggly Wild Show.
For World Book Day, we all dressed up as a character from a book. We had fantastic costumes!
During Book Week we visited Eltham Library. The librarian told us lots about the library and she read us a story. We really enjoyed our visit!
We had a very busy and exciting Health and Safety Week! We had many health and safety lessons. We went on a trip to Lee Green Fire Station and had talks from the Metropolitan Police, London Fire Brigade and Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.
In Science we have been learning about materials. We carried out an investigation to identify the best material for a waterproof jacket.
Black History Week
During Black History Week, we made our own African masks and we attended an African drumming workshop. We really enjoyed the week!
Year 2 Liturgy
Recently we held a Liturgy in our classroom. The children led the Liturgy and Father Arbo was in attendance. The children shared their work, read their prayers and sang hymns.
Parents were also invited and we would like to thank those who attended, as well as Father Arbo. We really enjoyed our Liturgy and we were very glad you could come.
