This week we thoroughly enjoyed being part of the Nativity play and showed how brave we all are. We performed in front of the whole school and our parents and careers. Our song of choice was 'Away in a Manger' and everybody said we performed so well.
Wet weather water colours
We love outdoor play and never let the rain stop us. Today we took advantage of the wet weather and used powder paints to make some amazing colour patterns. It was so much fun!
We've been learning all about 2D shapes and Miss told us that some of those cheeky shapes have been trying to hide around our school. We're all such good shape hunters that guess what... we found them!
Nursery celebrates... Black History Month
During October we joined the rest of the school to celebrate black history month. We learnt about where the African continent is on a globe and spoke about how nice a sunny the weather is there. We designed and made African masks, Kente cloth and also got the opportunity to try some Jollof rice which was tasty. We hosted a party and invited all our friends from Reception. We danced together, played together and we even let some of our parents join in. Our celebrations ended with a traditional Ghananian folk tale and a beautiful nursery rhyme from the Netherlands courtesy of some of our parents. We have been busy!
Thank you brave soldiers
On the 11th hour, of the 11th day of the 11th month we were silent. We spent 2 minutes thinking about people who look after us and love us. Miss told us about brave men an women who were looking after people before we were born, before she was born, before her mum was born and even before her grandmother was born (that is a long time ago). We thought about how we should always look after the people we care for and said 'Thank you'. We made a large poppy to put up in a class so we NEVER FORGET.
