On Thursday the children looked amazing in their costumes!
The children were so excited, they jumped into character as soon as they see their friends. We witnessed some great observations too!
This week we have been talking about Shrove Tuesday. We talked about how to forgive others.
We made Pancakes with the choice of three toppings and at snack time we ate them - they were delicious!
On the arts and crafts table the children made Pancakes for the RE display.
We listened to some great stories 'Mr Wolf's Pancakes and The Run Away Pancake' during children's learning. They acted out events from the story.
Nursery children have been celebrating RE week by looking at different religions. We focused on Hinduism and talked about the festival of light ‘Diwali’ and made Diva lamps using clay.
We also explored the parable told by Jesus in the bible ‘The Good Samaritan’. We discussed the act of kindness, respect, and showing love to each other. Children had opportunities to retell the story in their own words.
The children have been busy outside this week... Some new activities such as the mud kitchen where the children have been busy developing their imaginations and creating some lovely cakes, porridge and so much more. The wooden cafe and dressing up clothes have been a huge success with the children where they are mark making, dealing with money and making new relationships with peers.
Firstly, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents that were able to join us on this wonderful day out at the farm.
The children went around the farm and met lots of animals; they were very brave as they got to stroke a Ram, Ewe, Cow, a Chicken called Jacob and a Guinea Pig called Sandy.
The children got to go on a nature walk to find some items such as leaves, something blue, a tiny stone, a twig, a feather and something curly. The children were very excited when they found an item.
In the afternoon we listened to the story of The Three Little Pigs.
The children had to make houses out of the three materials the three pigs used in the story. It was great fun trying to blow the houses down.
We hope you enjoy all the lovely pictures of our trip.
The Nursery Team
In nursery we've been listening for new sounds around the school. We found a lovely grass area at the front of the office where we got the opportunity to watch the builders at work! We heard lots of different sounds (banging, drilling and the chains moving on the crane).
Mark making for the Year of Mercy and creating pictures of our families.
