This week we made jam tarts.
We used ready made pastry and strawberry jam or lemon curd for the filling. We had to use our cutters vey carefully so that did not waste any pastry. We also cut smaller shapes to give our jam tarts a top.
In Cookery Club, we baked some beautiful cakes and chocolate muffins to sell to parents and children. This was to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
We used ready-made pastry and cut it into equal sized squares. We chose the filling for our pie from a selection of chorizo, ham, cheese, onion, salmon, kidney beans and sweet corn and placed it on the first square.
We then placed a second square on top and sealed it around the edges pressing down with a fork.
Next we brushed them with milk and put them in the oven for 15 minutes at 180 c.
We were really pleased with the end result - they were a bit like the pies you get from Greggs!
